What Is the Artemis Program?
The Artemis program is NASA’s ambitious effort to return humans to the Moon and establish a long-term presence there — as a stepping stone to future missions to Mars and beyond.
The Artemis II mission — scheduled to launch as early as February 5th 2026 and no later than April 2026 — will be the first crewed spacecraft to fly around the Moon since the Apollo era. It marks a major milestone in human spaceflight.
How the “Send Your Name” Campaign Works
NASA is inviting the global public to become a part of space history. Here’s how the initiative works:
1. Submit Your Name (Free!)

Enter your name and a PIN code.

Submit before the deadline (typically January 21, 2026).
2. Your Name Goes to Space
Your submitted name will be collected and stored on a digital memory card (SD card) that will fly aboard the Orion spacecraft during the Artemis II mission. You become a virtual passenger on a historic lunar voyage!
3. Download Your Boarding Pass
After submitting, you’ll be able to download a personalized digital boarding pass — a keepsake showing your name flying around the Moon.
About the Artemis II Mission
The Orion spacecraft will carry a crew of four astronauts on a roughly 10-day mission that loops around the Moon and returns to Earth:
